American Maritime Officers member Sterling Pearson, sailing as an ocean ranger aboard the Star Princess, here in the Glacier Bay passage, in Alaska-- Pearson is one of 25 AMO members currently sailing as ocean rangers aboard international cruise ships operating in Alaskan waters. AMO members began work in April as ocean rangers with Crowley Liner Services under a contract with the State of Alaska. More than 40 AMO members have completed the training program to work as ocean rangers aboard international cruise ships.
