| The officers and crew of the M/V Ocean Crescent May 7 were presented with the United States Merchant Marine Expeditionary Award for their service in Operation New Dawn. AMO officers at the ceremony were Captain Jeff Fischer, Chief Mate Cezar Poninski, Second Mate Jon Odell, Third Mate Jeff Thompson, Chief Engineer Jim Brown and First A.E. Andrew Edlund. Also attending were AMO National Assistant Vice President David Weathers, Intermarine Vice President for U.S.-Flag Services Will Terrill and Maritime Administration Associate Administrator for National Security Kevin Tokarski. In May, the heavy-lift ship M/V Ocean Crescent delivered the last mine-resistant, ambush-protected vehicle (MRAP) to leave Iraq as part of military operations there. |
