| AMO member Capt. Samar Bannister (right), master of the USNS Soderman, recently visited the AMO office in Washington, D.C., and attended a fundraiser for Congressman Rick Larsen (middle) with AMO National Vice President, Government Relations, Mike Murphy. Rep. Larsen serves on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and is ranking member on the Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation Subcommittee. He also serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the Seapower and Projection Forces Subcommittee. During her visit, Bannister also visited the Maritime Administration, Military Sealift Command and U.S. Coast Guard offices. Any AMO member is welcome to visit the union's office in Washington, D.C., and learn more about how AMO's political and legislative departments help create and sustain jobs for U.S. merchant mariners. |
