At 1020 LT on May 22, while anchored offshore of Karachi, Pakistan, the crew of the M/V Freedom assembled to commemorate National Maritime Day. During the ceremony, Bosun Ellison read President Barack Obama's 2010 National Maritime Day Proclamation. Afterward, they honored all past and present U.S. Mariners with three strikes on the ship's bell followed by a moment of silence.
