STAR Center Non-Resident Training Program

As a reminder, the board of trustees has approved a Non-Resident Training program that will reimburse eligible participants of the Safety & Education Plan designated amounts toward tuition costs for certain classes taken at approved training facilities other than STAR Center. The following courses are approved:

• Radar Recertification
• Visual Communications (signaling)
• Deck upgrade - study materials as approved for raise-of-grade, including CDs and online programs
• Engine upgrade - study materials as approved for raise-of-grade, including CDs and online programs
• Refrigeration Recovery

Plan participants must submit an application for approval to attend training PRIOR to taking the class to be considered for the benefit. Reimbursement will be made after the class has completed, once the claim form and all other required documentation has been submitted. Both the NRT application and claim forms can be downloaded from the STAR Center Web site.
