The International Propeller Club of the United States has selected Senator David Vitter (R-LA) to receive its prestigious Salute to Congress Award for 2010.
Presented annually, the Salute to Congress Award recognizes members of Congress for their outstanding contributions to the maritime community. Sen. Vitter will be the 26th recipient.
Sen. Vitter serves on committees key to U.S. maritime policy, including the Senate Committee on Armed Services, where he is ranking member on the Subcommittee on Strategic Forces. He also sits on the Committees on Commerce, Science & Transportation and Environment & Public Works.
