STAR Center adds four-week Diesel Endorsement course for steam engineers
STAR Center is pleased to announce the addition of a four-week Diesel Endorsement course to its schedule, starting Monday, October 16 through Friday, November 10.
The purpose of this course is to prepare a steam vessels-endorsed United States Coast Guard licensed engineer to successfully test for the addition of an endorsement for motor vessels at the same license level they currently hold.
It is important to note that this course may be used for only one application towards sea time credit OR diesel endorsement cross-over and may not be used for subsequent raises in-grade or cross-over applications. The applicant will need to take the "Increase in Scope" exam for this course at a USCG Regional Exam Center. Applicants who have successfully completed the course need not present completed "Control Sheets" for the assessments in application for STCW certification.
Any questions regarding these courses should be directed to Allen Howard, the head of the Engineering Department, at 800-942-3220 Ext. 7803 or via .
