Final mission for USNS Brittin

This photo of the crew of the USNS Brittin was taken as she prepared to depart from Alabama Shipyard for what may be the last mission as the USNS Brittin. She is scheduled to be turned over the control of the Maritime Administration in April 2023 on the U.S. West Coast and will likely have the name changed. She has completed a seven-month period in Alabama Shipyard and is in all respects ready for sea. Upon turnover to MARAD, she will operated by Pasha and both the AMO and SIU will continue to serve on board.

In the photo are the following crew members: (kneeling left to right) AB Michael Penkwitz, Wiper Anquette Smith, SA Wilbur Edwards, AB Omar Alshami, SA Albert Irvine, (standing left to right) SK Brad Renollet, Chief Cook Barbara Smith, Second Mate John McMonagle, Steward Jayne Peterson, Bosun Grayson Brantley, Third Mate Kristine Mehuren, Third Mate Johnathon Bauer, Chief Engineer Mark Merenda, OS Antione Clark, Captain Bill Spooner, Third Assistant Engineer Mark Santoli, Third A.E.
