Military Sealift Command awards operating contract for six T-AGOS and T-AGM ships to Ocean Shipholdings, Inc.


Military Sealift Command has awarded the operating contract for five transportation auxiliary general ocean surveillance (T-AGOS) ships and one transportation auxiliary general missile range instrumentation (T-AGM) ship to Ocean Shipholdings, Inc. The vessels covered by the operating contract are USNS Victorious, USNS Able, USNS Effective, USNS Loyal, USNS Impeccable, and USNS Howard O. Lorenzen.

American Maritime Officers currently represents all licensed officers aboard the T-AGOS and T-AGM ships with the incumbent operator and would continue to do so with Ocean Shipholdings.

If all options are exercised, the contract would extend for five years.

The contract award protest period for other companies that submitted bids on the request for proposals remains in effect at this time. Contingent upon any protests of the contract award, the operating contract with Ocean Shipholdings is currently expected to commence in October of this year.
