Military Sealift Command awards operating contract for six prepositioning ships to Crowley

Military Sealift Command has awarded the contract for the operation of six Maritime Prepositioning Force (MPF) ships - USNS 2nd LT John P. Bobo, USNS SGT William R. Button, USNS 1st LT Baldomero Lopez, USNS 1st LT Jack Lummus, USNS GYSGT Fred W. Stockham, and USNS PFC Dewayne T. Williams - to Crowley Government Services, Inc.

Crowley is the incumbent operator and American Maritime Officers represents all licensed officers aboard the MPF ships. If the four optional one-year periods are exercised, the contract would extend for five years.

The protest period for other companies that submitted bids on the request for proposals remains in effect at this time. The new operating contract is currently expected to commence on or about January 1, 2023.
