Boatlift event to honor victims of September 11 terrorist attacks, commemorate waterborne evacuation of Lower Manhattan

NEW YORK CITY - To remember and honor the many victims on the 20th Anniversary of 9/11, American maritime vessels from the boatlift rescue of September 11 will conduct a boat procession following a brief ceremony.
The ceremony, vessel procession and blessing of the fleet will commence in Wagner Park and New York Harbor on Friday, September 10 at 1 p.m. As many as 100 vessels will participate in the procession, including vessels that participated in the 9/11 boatlift.
The event is hosted by the American Maritime Partnership, New York Council of the Navy League, Transportation Institute, Towboat and Harbor Carriers Association, Passenger Vessel Association, Port Authority of NY/NJ, Sandy Hook Pilots and Seaman's Church Institute.
