Hurricane Elsa forces cancellation of July 6 meeting

The AMO Executive Board has agreed to cancel the scheduled AMO membership meeting at headquarters on July 6 because of Hurricane Elsa - which could make landfall in South Florida that morning.

All of South Florida - from the Keys, the East and West Coasts and as far North as Palm Beach County - is in the target zone, according to the latest forecast.

Hurricane Elsa was at Category 1 strength according to most recent report from the National Hurricane Center.

In addition to potential property damage, flooding, roadway obstruction, and personal injury or fatality, Hurricane Elsa is expected to complicate travel plans for people leaving or returning to South Florida at the end of the three-day Independence Day holiday.
