Members of American Maritime Officers working aboard the ice class tanker Maersk Peary in May, here in Jacksonville, Fla., included Second Assistant Engineer Lee Wright, Captain Everett Hatton, Second A.E. Justin Lovely, First A.E. Benjamin White, Second Mate Mike Watkins, Chief Engineer Jim Cook and Third Mate Aaron Lamb. Most of the ship's crew has been onboard from five to nine months due to the ship's regular participation in Operation Deep Freeze, followed by restriction-to-ship requirements due to COVID-19. Crew changes are being completed while the ship is in the U.S. this month. The Maersk Peary is operating under long-term Military Sealift Command charter with primary missions to Antarctica and Greenland, as well as missions in the Mediterranean Sea. AMO represents all licensed officers aboard the ship.
