AMO membership meetings canceled in April, May

The regularly scheduled monthly AMO membership meeting postponed from April 6 to April 27 has been canceled. The membership meeting scheduled for May 4 has been canceled as well.

This action was approved this morning by a 6-1 vote of the AMO Executive Board in keeping with the federal declaration of a national health emergency and with the "stay home" order issued by the State of Florida in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

These meeting cancellations are necessary because of the continuing complications arising from the COVID-19 crisis. The intent aligns with our first priority during this national health emergency - to minimize the risk of infection for all deep-sea, Great Lakes and inland waters AMO members and their families. We do not want AMO members to become infected en route to, during or on their way home or to their vessels following a membership meeting at AMO headquarters.

Official reports prepared for each meeting will be posted for AMO membership review on the secure members' only portion of the AMO website.

AMO representatives will resume boarding deep-sea, Great Lakes and inland waters vessels as soon as the official "all clear" is declared.

Meanwhile, all AMO officials and representatives are available by email or by cell phone while working remotely. All personnel contact information is available on the directory page of the AMO newspaper, which is posted on the AMO website.
