STAR Center implements COVID-19 Exposure Control Plan

The following bulletin was sent via e-mail to AMO members and applicants and AMO-contracted vessels on March 6.

The public health emergency declared on March 1 by the Governor of Florida in Executive Order 20-51 was a sober reaction to the global spread of COVID-19. AMO Plans Trustees have directed AMO Plans staff to take immediate temporary action in order to reduce risk and safeguard the well being and safety of all AMO members, their families and the AMO Plans staff.

Protecting the health and safety of AMO Plans participants, AMO families and AMO Plans staff is of paramount concern, as is the responsibility to ensure the continuity of AMO Plans operations. The actions taken by the Trustees are in keeping with their responsibilities, and have been taken in all seriousness and with due consideration of the potential impact of these actions.

The Board directed the implementation of an Exposure Control Plan that includes the following:

  • With immediate effect, all arriving students, staff (adjuncts), and visitors are REQUIRED to complete an online questionnaire, which can be accessed online.
  • With immediate effect, no family members may accompany students, staff (adjuncts), or visitors. AMO Plans facilities are closed to all family members until further notice.

Some key items you should be aware of:

  • The Facilities Department has implemented a stringent cleaning/disinfecting procedure for rooms and office spaces.
  • Additional hand sanitizing units have been deployed around the campus. Their use on arrival in the galley is mandatory.
  • Wiping down of gym equipment by users both before and after use is mandatory.

These temporary measures have been taken as a result of the declared implementation of the health emergency. We ask for your understanding and compliance while they remain in force.
