Members of American Maritime Officers are urged to contact their elected representatives in Congress to voice support for the Jones Act. The American Maritime Partnership, a coalition of which American Maritime Officers Service is a member and which American Maritime Officers supports, has created an electronic portal to make the process fast and simple. The portal is available online.
By entering your information, your message will be directed to your members of Congress. You can send either a pre-formatted message from the portal or edit the message as you wish. Each member is encouraged to personalize the message and tell Congress why your job matters to you, and what would happen to you, your family, and your job if the Jones Act goes away. Your personal story, even just a sentence, will make the letter more effective.
