STAR Center revises Engine Management Upgrade Task Assessment Program

STAR Center has revised its Engine Management Upgrade Task Assessment Program to improve how the required task assessments are scheduled. The existing five-day General class and 3-day Motors Assessment class will be combined into a single eight-day task assessment class for all those unable to have the required tasks signed off onboard. The eight-day class will also include the MEECE task assessments currently offered in conjunction with STAR Center's one-week MEECE class for motor licensed engineers. STAR Center hopes to be able to further reduce the time allotted for task completion as experience is gained with the timing of the included tasks.

Full details of the requirements for the STCW 2010 Engineer Management Level Upgrade Program are available on the STAR Center website, and the schedule showing when each required task is completed is also available on the website. All eligible AMO members and applicants in need of this training are welcome to submit an application to attend.
