The Omnibus Appropriations Act for 2009, which was signed into law March 11, provides full funding for the Maritime Security Program for fiscal year 2009.
The act provides funding for most but not all government agencies through Sept. 30, 2009. Remaining federal agencies and departments were funded by an earlier appropriations bill for fiscal 2009.
Included in the Omnibus Appropriations Act is $174 million for the Maritime Administration to maintain the 60-ship Maritime Security Program fleet, full funding for the program during this fiscal year.
