An American Bureau of Shipping quality evaluations auditor on June 21 completed an audit of the American Maritime Officers ISO 9001:2008 quality management system and found the union operating with zero non-conformities.
The audit report states: "Based on the results of the audit, the audit team determined that the management system was effectively implemented and maintained per defined requirements and is deemed capable to achieve expected outputs."
In the report, the auditor's conclusion statement regarding the effectiveness of AMO's ISO quality management system is as follows: "The QMS is effectively maintained, and is updated as input dictates. Internal audits and management review processes are very well maintained."
