Sealift Inc. awarded U.S. Air Force prepositioning contract


Military Sealift Command has awarded a contract to Sealift Inc. for the time charter of the M/V TSgt. John A. Chapman. The ship's primary mission will be to preposition U.S. Air Force ammunition and it is expected to operate in and around Saipan.

American Maritime Officers represents all licensed officers in the Sealift Inc. fleet.

Work under the time charter is expected to begin in June of this year and be completed under the firm period within 115 calendar days. The contract includes four option periods of one year each and one additional option period of approximately 7 1-2 months.

The M/V Maj. Bernard F. Fisher, owned and operated by Sealift Inc., is the vessel currently serving this mission.
