The Transportation Security Administration has reported applicants for Transportation Worker Identification Credentials are experiencing delays of more than 75 days in receiving a TWIC. The TSA is strongly encouraging all TWIC applicants to submit TWIC applications at least 10 to 12 weeks prior to the date the new TWIC will be needed.
Separately, the TSA reported the TWIC fee will be reduced to $128 effective February 1, 2015. The $1.75 reduction is due to lower FBI fingerprint processing charges.
