Officers, crew of USNS Wheeler commended for community outreach, proactive operational planning In a message to Captain John Mansfield, master on the USNS VADM K.R. Wheeler, U.S. Navy Capt. Leonard Remias - commodore, Maritime Prepositioning Ship Squadron Three - commended the vessel's officers and crew for their early community outreach work after the USNS Wheeler's arrival in Saipan, as well as their proactive planning for offshore petroleum distribution system testing, training with sonar equipment and in-house survey operations.

"Bravo Zulu (Well Done) to the entire WHEELER team for hosting the Saipan Rotary Club during yesterday's tours," Capt. Remias wrote in a message dated Feb. 11. "Your team has hit the deck running since arrival on 6 Feb and is already making a resounding impact and lasting impression in the community."

The USNS Wheeler is operated for Military Sealift Command by TOTE Services, Inc. and is manned in all licensed positions by American Maritime Officers. Capt. Remias is embarked on the USNS 2nd Lt. John P. Bobo, which is operated for MSC by Maersk Line, Limited and is manned in all licensed positions by AMO.
