On behalf of the AMO National Executive Board and all AMO officials and staff, I extend our best wishes for a happy and healthy Thanksgiving holiday to all AMO members and families.
As members of the largest union of U.S. merchant marine officers, we have much to be thankful for this year. While we have all encountered challenges and setbacks - circumstances that often arise in our competitive industry - our collective course is set for a future of opportunity and prosperity.
We are thankful for our union's position of strength and the abundance of new work on the near horizon. We are grateful for the dedication and skill demonstrated by AMO members every day on the job in all deep-sea, Great Lakes and inland waters trades. The professionalism of the AMO membership makes all things possible for our union.
We understand the sacrifices seagoing work often requires, especially being away from home, family and friends during the holidays. Underway and ashore, our thoughts are with you all.
