Coast Guard announces greater access to administrative law judge docket system

The U.S. Coast Guard has established a toll-free call center at the administrative law judge (ALJ) docketing center and announced it is providing greater access to ALJ transcripts.

The toll-free call center was created to assist people filing documents and to provide more information about the process used in adjudicating cases in the ALJ system. The ALJ help desk can be reached at (866) 612-7524.

The Coast Guard announced the ALJ system is instituting a policy to provide free-of-charge an electronic or printed copy of hearing transcripts to parties involved in a case. The docketing center will also provide transcripts upon request in the appeals process. Additionally, the ALJ program intends to publish transcripts of ALJ hearings on the Coast Guard's Homeport Web site to increase transparency.

More information on the ALJ system is available online at http://www.homeport.uscg.mil.
