AMO secures increases in new contract with Crescent Towing


American Maritime Officers has secured a new three-year agreement with New Orleans-based Crescent Towing. The agreement covers all captains and engineers in the company's fleets in New Orleans and Savannah.

Serving on the AMO contract negotiating committee were Shop Steward Captain Danny Robichaux, Captain Roy Helmstetter, Engineer Barry Quirk, Captain Derek Dragon and Engineer James Dwayne Price.

"The committee should be commended for securing significant increases in wages for AMO captains and engineers at Crescent Towing. The committee also secured funding for the various AMO benefit plans," said AMO National Vice President for Inland Waters Charles Murdock.

The tugs in the Crescent fleet operated under contract with American Maritime Officers are the J.K. McLean, Angus Cooper, Miriam Cooper, Louisiana, and Port Allen in New Orleans, and the Bulldog, Georgia, Savannah, Florida, and General Oglethorpe in Savannah.
