Beginning in 2009, STAR Center will offer an Advanced Bridge Resource Management Course to provide for the continued professional development of the American Maritime Officers membership. The new course is designed for advanced teamwork skill training to enhance team proficiency in managing operational risk on the bridge.
The new BRM course provides a total of five advanced simulations totaling 7.5 hours of simulator time with one hour of planning and one hour of debriefing per simulation. As with the BRM training now available at STAR Center, the new course will also satisfy company, national and international regulations as stated in STCW A-II/1, A-II/2 and B-VIII/2.
