American Maritime Officers is steadily working to maximize service and efficiency in all aspects of the AMO Member Services Department, which includes the AMO Dispatch system.
A vital part of the Dispatch system is document management. Accordingly, the AMO Dispatch system has been enhanced to automatically track the expiration dates of the following documents for each AMO member and applicant:
While the auto-notification system will advise members when any of the listed documents are due to expire in 120 days, AMO members with no medical issues are urged to begin the process for renewing a license six months in advance of the license expiration date. AMO members who may have medical issues are urged to begin the process for renewing a license at least one year in advance of the license expiration date. In the original application for license renewal, mariners can request delayed issuance of a license to avoid license creep.
The Dispatch system's auto-notification feature can only be effective if each AMO member and applicant provides a valid e-mail address to AMO Member Services or AMO Dispatching, and notifies AMO Member Services when an e-mail address is changed.
AMO members can provide current e-mail addresses directly to . This e-mail address can also be found on the AMO website in the online directory and under the "Links" tab. It is also available on the AMO Dispatching website.
All AMO members and applicants are encouraged to take advantage of this feature and update their contact information in the system.
