Improperly encoded TWIC cards issued; TSA to provide replacement cards at no charge


The Transportation Security Administration has announced approximately 26,000 previously issued TWIC cards were improperly encoded and may not work with TWIC card readers. The TSA stated these cards will be replaced at the request of individual card holders at no charge. The affected cards were issued prior to April 5, 2011.
