S/S Westward Venture makes final voyage

The S/S Westward Venture, formerly owned by Totem Ocean Trailer Express and operated by Interocean American Shipping Corporation, has been sold for scrap. The ship was built at Sun Shipyard in Chester, Pa., and entered service in 1977. For the past 35 years, she has been involved in nearly continuous trade in the Pacific Northwest, with occasional worldwide charter trips. Throughout that time, she has been crewed exclusively by a superb group of AMO officers and SIU crews. We thank both AMO and SIU for their cooperation and assistance with the Westward Venture throughout the working life of the ship.
