STAR Center Medical Training Manager Lesley Karentz has been appointed to the U.S. Coast Guard's newly chartered Merchant Marine Medical Advisory Committee.
The committee will provide expertise and recommendations to the Department of Homeland Security on matters related to the medical evaluations and requirements for merchant mariners.
"Lesley's appointment to the committee provides a valuable perspective from one who both teaches medical care procedures to mariners and who works daily with mariners who are subject to Coast Guard regulations," said STAR Center Director of Training Phil Shullo.
