Please be advised: the AMO National Executive Board has determined the shortage of engineers has eased to the point that blanket approval by the trustees of the Pension Plan for AMO pensioners to return to work as engineers in covered employment should cease. AMO pensioners currently working in covered employment as engineers with approval of the Pension Plan trustees may continue to receive their pension and remain in covered employment. Prospective pensioners requesting permission from the trustees to return to covered employment is to be handled on a case-by-case basis.
The AMO National Executive Board will continue to monitor the AMO member-to-job ratio and will notify the trustees of any future recommended actions.
